Sadly, Microsoft has announced that after 13 years, it is launching what will be the last season of the Xbox Ambassador program.
As of today, they have begun phasing out the seasonal Ambassador rewards. They state their intent is to expand on the Xbox Rewards and Xbox Research programs, the latter of which you can use to give them any feedback you may need to.
They will also be “evolving” their Xbox Ambassador Champions into Xbox Community Champions. Details aren’t entirely given, but one could assume this won’t see that big of a change in the long run. In the statement on their site they also give a list of how you can continue to help the Xbox community and ecosystem evolve which we have listed below
- To honor the principles and sentiment of the Xbox Ambassador Pledge, we have launched the Xbox Community Pledge, that calls all players to contribute to creating a positive experience while playing on Xbox.
- If you haven’t already, contribute to shaping the future of Xbox by joining the Xbox Insider Program (which is inclusive of the Xbox Accessibility Insiders League) and Xbox Research, where you can continue to provide valuable feedback to help us create more enjoyable games for everyone across our gaming platforms and influence the player experience.
- Become an Xbox FanFest member to connect with other players in the ultimate Xbox fan club, and enjoy exclusive access to unforgettable events and community benefits.
- Get rewards for the games you love to play through Rewards with Xbox, which includes opportunities to receive free access to Game Pass Ultimate.
- Keep the community safe and fun by following the Xbox Community Standards, which express our values to sustain a vibrant and welcoming platform.
The final season of the program will end on October 15th, which will be the last day to claim any Ambassador related rewards. Until then, Microsoft will hold weekly sweepstakes, giving ambassadors a final chance to use up their points, after which Ambassadors will be given a new “legacy” badge.
