LittleBigPlanet 3 to be Delisted

As an advocate for game preservation, it pains me when I have to write this sort of thing.

Announced via the official Sackboy Twitter / X account, LittleBigPlanet 3 will be delisted on October 31st 2024. After 10 years, the digital version of the game and its DLC for the the creative puzzle platformer, from Sumo Digital will be taken down from the PlayStation Store.

They have noted in their statement that anyone who owns the game and it’s DLC will still be able to access any offline content in the game.

Back in January of this year, the servers went offline without notice, and it was later announced that they would stay offline so the online content hasn’t been accessible for a while.

LittleBigPlanet 3 originally launched on November 18th, 2014 on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and garnered a Metacritic of 79, but since then has gained a big cult following online.

For anyone interested in getting the digital version of the game before the dreaded October 31st delisting date, the game is currently going for $19.99 Canadian and USD (weird but a great deal for Canadians) and is playable on PlayStation 5 through back compatibility. Physical copies will still work of course, but this takes your PlayStation Store option away.
