The Steam Deck Is Coming To Australia

If you’re into gaming there’s a good chance you’ve at least heard of The Steam Deck. A nice little portable computer that runs off Steam OS. What you may not know is it’s not available to order everywhere. Luckily one more place will soon be able to order them directly from Valve.

Starting in November of this year, 2024, fellow PC players in Australia will finally be able to get there hands on a Valve Steam Deck directly from Valve. Up until now the only way to get one if you lived there would be to get it through a 3rd party, likely at an inflated price from places such as Ebay, or Amazon.

For those wondering about pricing, the 256GB LDC model will be 649$ AUD, the 512GB OLED model will be 899$ AUD and the 1TB model will run our friends over sea’s 1,049$ AUD. To anyone in America or Canada that might seem high but there’s been reported sales of the 1TB model on retailers like Kogan for over 1,300$ AUD. So this will be bringing the price down quite a bit. While I’m unsure what the price will be exactly keep in mind Valve also sells refurbished models when available and they come with the same 1 year warranty there new models come with.

Steam Deck is a great way to play your games natively as opposed to some other devices that are only capable of streaming your games.

The Steam Deck originally launched on February 25nd, 2022 in North America and Europe though pre orders for the first batch were taken in July, 2021. Preorders were allowed in batches after that until Valve managed to get production up to demand. If your from Australia, will you be buying a Steam Deck? Let us know below.
