Today it has been announced Via the PR times Japanese website that Konomi’s Silent Hill 2 remake has sold a million copies between the Playstation 5 and PC.
“Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that cumulative shipments worldwide of the psychological horror game “SILENT HILL 2″ (PlayStation®5, Steam®), released on October 8, have surpassed one million copies.”

To some, this announcement might not be seen a lot, but if you know the series well, this is good news. It took the original Silent Hill 2 a month to reach a million copies sold, and the series as a whole (before the remake) sold just over 9 million between between 8 mainline games.
After releasing on October 8th of this year, the game managed to score an 86 on Metacritic and an 87 on OpenCritic. Our own review gave it a 10/10. After scores this high, I can’t help but look forward to whatever Konomi might do with the series and the next game Silent Hill. I also personally hope that Blooper Team is able to come back to the series after their work on the remake.
